Senior Trip: Wild Blossom Meadery and Lunch
Thursday, March 6, 2025 — 9:30am - 5:00pm
This hidden gem, Wild Blossom Meadery & Winery, awaits our arrival! It is known as the first winery in Chicago and the first meadery in Illinois.
Mead is an alcoholic beverage made by fermenting honey with yeast and is a small niche of the craft beer and wine market. Being a mead producer, Wild Blossom Meadery & Winery raises their own bees and collects their own honey.
We will first hear a presentation on how the honey and meads are made and then view the honeybees. We will also enjoy a honey tasting, a flight of wines, cheese boards, salad, and freshly made pizza
Following the Meadery, we will stop at Rainbow Cone for everyone to try the 95-year Chicago tradition of stacked ice cream including chocolate, strawberry, Palmer House, pistachio, and orange sherbet.
This is a “can’t miss” afternoon!
