Senior Trip: Sanfilippo Estate and Lunch
Tuesday, November 12, 2024 — 8:30am - 3:30pm
The Sanfilippo Estate is a private home located in Barrington Hills and features the world's finest collection of automatic music instruments. The Sanfilippo "Place de la Musique" is known worldwide for its magnificent collections of beautifully restored antique music machines, phonographs, arcade and gambling machines, chandeliers, art glass, the world's largest restored theatre pipe organ, the most spectacular European salon carousel in existence, street and tower clocks, steam engines and other functional mechanical antiques, displayed within a breathtaking French Second Empire setting. We will learn all about this on our 3-hour docent led tour of the estate.
After the tour we will head to Chessie’s where we will dine in a 1927 Illinois Railroad Dining Car and enjoy an Italian themed lunch.
Choice of entrée at sign-up:
- Shrimp Palermo: Sauteed gulf shrimp, ground sausage, herbs and spices in a cream sauce served over linguine
- Baked Penne Pasta: Homemade penne pasta topped with marinara, mozzarella, and parmesan cheeses
