Senior Trip: Kicks on Route 66

Get your kicks on Route 66 with our fun-filled day that includes four Route 66 stops.
We begin with a 90-minute, docent led walking tour, with little to no rest areas, of the abandoned Old Joliet Prison. This tour talks about the general history of the site from when it was first opened in 1958 until its closure in 2002. We will stop at the east and west cell houses, north segregation, the cafeteria, and the chapel.
After the tour we will head to the nostalgic Route 66 Diner where lunch is on your own! After lunch we will head to the Route 66 Visitor Center to snap a few pictures at the multiple photo op set ups. We will conclude our day with a stop at Rich & Creamy where you can purchase ice cream for the ride home!
